Please see the options below for any questions you may have. If you are unsure of anything else or need further clarification, please reach out to us via live chat or emai: eastcoaststable@gmail.com
Do I need to be experienced?
We cater for everyone from children ages 5 and up. No experience required. Please contact us for children below 5 years with riding experience to be included. We will explain the basics and teach you how to mount and control your horse to ensure a smooth riding experience. Young children will have a guide with them at all times. Experienced riders have the opertunity to canter, gallop, trot or do whatever suits their skill level at the beach. Please speak with your guides to let them know what you would like to try or what you are comfortable doing. When booking, please let us know if you have any riding expereince or if this will be your first time.
What is the weight limit?
Horses can carry 20% of their body weight, but we'd like to make this a comfortable experience for everyone including our horses. Our trails are unique and consist of uneven areas and rocky paths along different areas, mangrooves plus more. So it is essential that everyone rides safely and comfortable. Our weight limit is 240 pounds. For persons slightly above this weight limit, please contact us to make arrangements.
What should I wear or bring?
Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in freely. The trail consists of mostly shaded areas in the rain forest, but there are some areas you will be exposed to sunligh, so sun screen maybe required. Bug repellent is a must... because you are on a nature trail in the forest. Wear shoes that will stay on your feet comfortably, prefferably closed toe shoes or sandals. No flip flops. Bring along your camera to capture these amazing moments and beautiful scenery. If you are planning to swim with your horse, bring towels, swim suits and a change of clothes. For persons doing the waterfall tours, waters shoes are recommended.
Do the horses go in the water?
Yes they do! But you must request this if you wish to, as not everyone wants to get wet while on tour. Speak with your guides about what you would like to do and what you're comfortable with. We are located on the east side of the island, so sometimes it is not possible to ride in the water as the sea can be rough and not safe to do so. Safety first! We cannot predict the outcome of every day, so please be understanding.
Do you provide transportation?
We provide pick up from all locations island wide, hotels, and cruise ports. Pick ups are scheduled from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm daily based on availability and location. Most of our tours includes transportation from your location and back, except our "Horse Ride Drop In" tour option which does not include pick up. This tour should be selected if you are coming to the stable via your own transportation and do not require pick up. Please provide at least 1 hour advanced notice when selecting your pick up or drop in time.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours of the excusion start time. Cancellations made with less than 24 hour notice are non refundable. Cancelling your excursion affects our business significantly as we have turned away other customers to secure your spot. Most reservations are made well in advance, so it is quite difficult to replace a booking at late notice. For this our policy is strictly adhered to. Cancellations made due to unforseen circumstances will be considered for a full or partial refund depending on the situation and the companys discretion.
What happens on rainy days or bad weather?
We live on a tropical island. It rains off and on, and sometimes for long hours. Horseback riding is an outdoor activity, so we proceed as planned once its safe to do so. Through our experience most guests prefer the cooler weather instread of the heat. If the weather becomes dangerous, we will contact you to reschedule or cancel. We also provide rain coats for those cool relaxing rainy days while on tour. Bring along towels and a change of clothes in case you get wet.
